The World NEXT ends

Well, it looks like my Notes 8.0.1 crash problem was caused by the IBM/Cisco DUCS v1.2.3 client. This is not supported on Domino (server) 8, but we've been using the client with Notes 8 since Notes 8 came out.
Apparently, something in Notes 8.0.1's integrated Sametime client does not play well with it.
Allegedly, the DUC/Notes 8 incompatibilities will be fixed in the "8.0.1" timeframe, and that's here now.
So what does one do? I think that will lead to my first SNTT post. Yes, I know it's not Thursday, thanks.

Did you upgrade the servers running DUCS to 8.0.1 as well? I tried this and server crashes when starting.

No. Do not do this - either on Domino 8 or 8.0.1, if you need DUCS on the server (for now), it'll have to stay at 7.x.

But you still get 99.9% of the benefit of the Notes 8.x client running it against a 7.x server.

The fact that IBM has not released a DUCs client that is fully supported for 8.x clients and servers is a little ridiculous and is delaying implementations of 8.x globally...
