The World NEXT ends

It's cool. I like!
It's aggressive. I like!
It's attractive and well-done. I like!

This has been bothering me for a year now, but if I bleed yellow, why is the 'monster' clawing me? Shouldn't the blood be Microsoft-colored (coloured)?

Yanno... I completely agree. It's cool an' all (if you're 12) but I think a far better metaphore can be used. Why don't we have a logo contest?

Except the claws are tearing their way OUT, not in. The beast is you. :-)

If anyone wants to recommend a different logo, we certainly wouldn't be closed to it. But I'll tell you upfront that it's pretty unlikely that we'll change the branding. The claws symbolize the unleashing your inner beast of collaboration.

What would you have instead? Bullet wounds with yellow dripping out? A heart that pours out yellow blood? A yellow stigmata? I assure you -- all of these passed over my screen during the initial creative cycle.

@2 - I understand completely, which is why I've held my tongue for a year (me?!). But I just had two people as me about that and I figured if they were wondering it might be worth mentioning.

I don't think y'all should change the branding, but I did NOT get that it was a beast "clawing it's way out.".

Specifically, if you look at the claw marks on the left, it's CLEARLY ripping from the outside in, while the one on the right is, indeed, ripping its way out.

As to what would be more clear? Maybe one additional "full size graphic" that shows more clearly what you've decribed. Mabye a little further back shot of a shirt with the hand/arms of the best emerging?

I prefer the image that the blood which runs through my veins is yellow....as compared to me actually bleeding yellow. Bleeding...or to be "bled out"....gives me the image of "techno-cide" for lack of a better word.

The only thing I know of where being "bled" is a positive is when you are rebuilding your brakes and you need to re-establish the line pressure.

A logo which makes more sense to me....is one that reflects a circulatory system with yellow very clearly coursing through and feeding the body..life...and new possibility.

Making analogy to the human body is good for Domino....they both do so very much......defense, communication, entertainment, adaptability, mobility, self repair, etc.

So back to the R5 slogan of "I AM"... alive?

@5 - You make a good point, but one thing I really like about the claw stuff is that it's aggressive and in your face. We need that - Bleedin'Yallow folks have nothing to be ashamed of, in fact we have a lot for the other side to fear.

For LSU fans, there's a saying: Fear the Hat. { Link }

Well, for us, it's "Fear the Blood."

... And I'm sure all the Georgia-based Lotus911 folks just Ah-dore LSU...

8-)

@anonyous - I'm not a fan of "anonymous", so I've removed that comment.

I find it to be immature. Feel free to post considered opinions under a real name.
