The World NEXT ends

I just was looking at PCMag's site and saw this:

As Apple pursues the dream of the One Perfect Phone, it's fascinating to see Google Android evolve into the operating system of the Many Perfectly Good Enough Phones. On my desk right now, in descending order of size, are the Droid X, HTC EVO 4G, HTC Droid Incredible, and HTC Aria. Each one is basically usable - and at least somewhat similar - but they each have something to recommend them. Together, they make the world of smartphones more exciting, and more enticing than it has ever been.
Full Story

I've found the Android universe of phones to be the most interesting this year. Decide what drives you: price, real vertical keyboard, real horizontal keyboard, big screen, bright screen, whatever, and you can find a Droid that fits you. Or you can go with whatever Apple knows is best for you.

I'm on AT&T and chose the Captivate, a Samsung Galaxy S phone, over the iPhone. I had several reasons:

I can easily remove the SIM card from the Captivate and put it in a cheap disposable phone if I going to the beach and don't want to risk the sand and the water.

I can replace the battery myself.

Since I didn't get an iPhone, I can still make fun of the fanboys who did.

I've played with the Captivate, and it's a very nice device...the screen is awesome. The removable battery is very nice, as is the ability to buy an extended battery w/ alternate battery door.

Who would make fun of iPhone fanbois? ;-)
