The World NEXT ends

Well, Colbert's out of the 2008 race (darn you Democrats!). Looks like I'll have to pick another dark horse. I may well go very esoteric:

Warning: attempted humor ahead.

For better or worse, G'kar and Londo are characters throughly grounded in a society not unlike ours.

I thought about a Star Trek character and Picard in particular, but have some issues (proving yet again that I'm thinking too much):

General Issues

The Federation is a utopian society, so the population has grown up without a clear understanding that some folks are greedy bastards. As such, they can't understand or interact well with our society or, in particular, Louisana politicians.

Picard Issues

Rush would have a field day with Picard:

  • He's French (with an english accent? huh?).
  • He's a socialist at heart (see General Issues).
  • He's a sissy (plays the flute?!).
  • He's bald - as a man with more forehead than in younger years, it's clear that full-head-o'-hair folks win elections.
  • He's OK with hard working imigrants.
  • He wears jumpsuits. (Although, that may well recommend him to Mr. Kevin 8-)
  • He was a traitor. And no, it won't matter to some folks that it was forced...

Although, if we wanted to emulate the astounding arrogance of the current administration, only one sure candidate comes to mind:

Awesome Kirk

All should appreciate artful thinking like yours
