The World NEXT ends 


I really like the content of these ads, but does anyone else see anything odd about IBM having ads like this? IBM has been a primary pusher for SecondLife and is a (the?) buzzword king of the universe, as anyone who watched the Opening General Session of Lotusphere can attest to.

Cognitive dissonance is a psychological term describing the uncomfortable tension that may result from having conflicting thoughts or beliefs (cognitions) at the same time or engaging in behavior that conflicts with one's beliefs.


Just funny to think about. Maybe IBM's changing?

UPDATE: I just noticed that I'd posted the Buzzword Bingo ad NOT in english... Fixed that....

The second is simply an updated version of one from several years ago where a kid shows a manager that he has an animated icon on the webpage. The manager then states that what he really needs is something to tie into his backend systems. The kid replies that he can't do that. John Dvorak said at the time that it was the most honest IT ad around.
